A classic blend of Yamaha's authentic tone and natural touch.
Perfect
for beginning students and experienced players alike, the ARIUS YDP-161
provides true piano tone and touch. The GH keyboard and 3-level AWM
Dynamic Stereo Sampling voices deliver remarkably authentic sound and
natural expressiveness, making it a true joy to play both in practice
and in performance. Additionally, the damper pedal includes a
half-damper effect, giving you nuanced expressive control over sustained
notes. Dual voice capability lets you play two different instrument
sounds at the same time, while a 2-track song recorder allows you to
capture your original musical ideas and performances.
Advanced Wave Memory (AWM) Dynamic Stereo Sampling
The
piano sound is a sampling from one Yamaha Full Concert Grand Piano
"CFIIIS", which has won high acclaim at the world's most famous concert
halls and music competitions. The best piano was selected, and an
experienced tuner adjusted it to ensure it was in top condition.
Sampling is carefully performed over a long period, from when the sound
starts until it fades out, to reproduce a natural sound and attenuation
not commonly seen in digital pianos. In addition, they also focus on the
change in timbre due to the strength or weakness of the key strike that
is unique to acoustic pianos. Sound sampling covered more than 10
stages of key strike strength for each keyboard.
The
Yamaha development team spent a lot of time together with pianists in
thorough pursuit of the optimum touch and timbre combination, resulting
in the achievement of natural sound changes that sound like a person is
actually playing a grand piano, no matter how the keyboard is played.
New Acoustic System Reproduces Clearer, more Voluminous Sound
Using
a new amp, the "Tone Escape" outlet for sound coming from the back of
the keyboard has been widened, creating a clearer piano sound with
increased volume, supported by a stereo amplifier with 20 watts of power
per side.
128-note Polyphony
Featuring
128-note polyphony, the YDP-161 allows the performance of dense
passages even when layering sounds via the Dual Voice feature. Yamaha's
technology ensures there is no unnatural sound cut-off even during heavy
sustain pedal usage so no notes are lost during performance.
Half-pedal response widens the range of expression
Yamaha
focuses on the expressive power of pedaling. Three pedals are attached
to the cabinet: damper, soft, and sostenuto. The damper pedal offers a
half-pedal response that can handle micro-adjustments of its strength,
depending on how hard the pedal is pressed.
Graded Hammer (GH) Keyboard offers quality and a natural playing feel
Yamaha,
using its century-old grand piano-making expertise, created a keyboard
that offers a natural playing feel. Just as on a traditional acoustic
piano, lower notes on a GH keyboard have a heavier touch, while the
higher ones are more responsive to lighter playing. With stability and
endurance in response to any kind of performance, it offers the
reliability and quality expected of Yamaha keyboards.
50 Preset Piano Songs and Music Book
50
classic piano songs are provided in the song player and as a music
book, "50 Greats for the Piano." These songs can be used for background
music or as learning reference.
10 Voices
In
addition to the realistic Grand Piano Voice, you can play other
instruments like Vibraphone, Electric Pianos, Harpsichords and Church
Organs. There’s also a rich Strings Voice that sounds great when used in
Dual Voice mode with the Acoustic Piano.
Filled with Convenient Functions
The YDP-161 never requires tuning or any other service required by an
acoustic piano. It also comes with two headphone jacks so you can play
any time of day or night. There’s also a built-in metronome essential
for practicing, a headphone hanger, and many more convenient features.
Music Software Downloader lets you transfer purchased music data to the instrument
Use
the Yamaha free software Music Software Downloader1 to transfer music
data on the PC (MIDI) to the instrument's built-in memory2... 1Music
Software Downloader is compatible with Windows only. 2Requires the
USB-MIDI interface "UX-16" to transfer the files.
Variable touch sensitivity
Select
the hard, medium or soft setting to match your playing style or finger
strength. Turn off sensitivity for a fixed response setting, ideal when
playing the organ.
Damper Resonance
Damper
Resonance samples provide rich and evolving tones produced by pedaling.
Using these comprehensive gradations, YDP-161 can realistically
reproduce the complex sounds of a grand piano.
2-Track/1-Song Recorder
The
easy to use, built-in 2-track recorder lets you capture your music and
plays it back. Play both hands together and use the second track to add a
different part. Or play one part at a time and rehearse complicated
pieces. You can also transfer recorded songs to your computer using
